Card Technology - Forecast 2012

Intelligent Card Solutions Become More Important

Today, it is so easy to merge companies, travel around the world or get medical treatment. Resulting from it are challenges like smooth access across locations for employees. Therefore, the need for cards grows, cards that can provide complex solutions. Different access control systems must be consolidated and compatible with each other. Moreover, the requirement for more security still grows and will push the demand for cards and other ID documents with high security levels in 2012, too. Generally, there are two types of smart cards that are suited for this purpose: Contact cards and contactless cards.

Contactless Media Solutions – Made in GERMANY

Electronic passports, company access cards or national ID cards. A lot of things in our daily routine are unimaginable without contactless media. PAV is specialized for a wide range of contactless media, like contactless cards. In our fully automated, German-based production facility, we provide companies with an opportunity to develop and produce their first samples as well. The most commonly used systems are in the range of 13.56 MHz. This frequency is suited for companies and institutions that have to read a marginal data volume over a short distance. Equal card systems are relativly well-priced, accepted worldwide, easy to handle and almost wear-free.

The Allgäu-Walser-Card simplifies the registration for tourists and offers added value concerning contactless payment for visitors.

The card technology influences the daily routine like no other. In almost every pocket you find it – as a customer loyalty card or a company access card. Several billion cards come out every year. The demand for contactless cards is still strong. Initially, they were used as ticket and payment solutions for public transport in Asia. Today, contactless cards are essential for a range of applications, like in the area of access control. The reason for this popularity is that they are easy to handle, secure and almost wear-free.
